Andrew was called to serve in the Baltic Mission. We invited some friends to come over and watch him open his call. The Gourleys, Hopkins, Hills, Coppoms, Paige English, Jimmy Mohlman and Eldon Monson were here to watch.
Hello Everybody, Short Version: The fall rainy season is starting. Sometimes there is a continual rain that goes all day and makes me feel like a vegetable in the produce aisle that gets that slight, yet continual shower of mist. Our friend Ignas is still progressing. We sang the Star Spangled Banner with him this week because he wanted to show us how he knew the words and the music to our National Anthem. Now me and Elder Sieverts need to learn the Lithuanian anthem. Long Version: This week went by super fast. We were bouncy around from appointment to appointment, which makes things a lot more fun. There's nothing worse than having no lessons and no appointments because that means we have to do Facebook all day. Ugh. We started running Facebook ads in Lithuania and they did super well. (Shoutout to Alan Cicotte). The basically generated 50 self referrals so that's what kept us so busy. Excluding last week, I have received 1 referral since being in...
Hello Everyone! Short Version :A little over a week ago Savelis got baptized making him the first member in all of Panevezys. He was so excited to be baptized he just about jumped into the water before my companion could say the baptismal prayer. It was funny too, he showed up in a large white catholic robe with military combat pants and overcoat underneath. We love Savelis and he makes church and English club a hoot. We also have another friend who wants to be baptized so we'll double the size of our Panevezys branch. other fun things: - We had a super stressful Saturday. All of the members in Lithuania came to Panevezys and we had a huge event that involved some meetings with the city council, presentations about our church to the citizens of panevezys that are interested in coming, and all the missionaries from Lithuania combined forces with the members, split off into little groups, and spread all across the city to invite people the the event. we handed out a...
Hello Everyone! I'm super stoked!!! I'm going to Kaunas which means I'm leaving the office and heading back to Lithuania. A weird thing about being in the office is that I've been able to see the transfer board which shows where all the missionaries are going on future transfers. So I've actually known for a month or two that I've been going back but haven't been able to to tell anyone about it. It's going to be so nice to use Lithuanian again. I feel like I'm ready. I hope it's not too rusty but I'm sure it will bounce back really quickly. The last couple of days, Elder Sieverts has been in Riga. He's going home tomorrow so Rest in Peace. Elder Yeyna too, and a few others missionary friends. Being with Elder Sieverts has been a blast. This last Sunday I bore my testimony in Russian. It was one of those things that I did not want to do. I forced myself up there and I couldn't tell you if I messed up because I was nervous. This whole ...
